Planned Giving to CAC

Leave a lasting legacy by letting your generosity live on for generations.

What is Planned Giving?

Planned giving (also called legacy giving) refers to charitable contributions made through your estate plans or financial arrangements. These gifts often represent some of the most meaningful and impactful donations a supporter can make. By including CAC in your planned giving and estate plans, you help ensure we can continue to serve child abuse victims in Bastrop, Lee & Fayette Counties. With planned giving, you make a significant impact for the future without affecting your financial security today.

Benefits of Planned Giving:

  • May make a larger gift than what you do during your lifetime

  • Reduce or eliminate estate taxes

  • Receive lifetime income streams from certain gift vehicles

  • Gain immediate tax deductions (for some gift types)

  • Retain control and flexibility — you can modify or revoke arrangements at any time

  • Leave a personal legacy that reflects your values and passions

Ways to Give Through Your Estate:

❋ Bequest in Your Will or Living Trust

You can designate:

  • A specific dollar amount

  • A percentage of your estate

  • Specific or Particular assets (property, securities, real estate, retirement accounts, etc.)

  • The remainder of your estate after other gifts

❋ Beneficiary Designations
  • Easy to update and often bypasses probate:

  • Retirement accounts (IRA, 401(k), 403(b))

  • Life insurance policies

  • Payable-on-death bank or brokerage accounts

❋ Charitable Remainder Trusts

Receive income for life (or a term of years), then the remainder passes to CAC. Great for appreciated assets.

❋ Charitable Gift Annuities

Provide fixed payments for life in exchange for your gift, with immediate tax benefits.

Other Planned Gift Vehicles

  • Donor-Advised Funds

  • Gifts of real estate or personal property

  • Life estate gifts (donate your home while retaining the right to live in it)

  • Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) from IRAs (for those 70½+)
