Where Hope and Healing Begin
The Children’s Advocacy Center, Serving Bastrop, Lee, and Fayette Counties is a nationally accredited, 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to restoring hope for children and families affected by abuse, trauma, and neglect. Founded in 1992 as one of the first Children’s Advocacy Centers in Texas, we are proud to be part of a statewide network of more than 70 CACs.
Our Mission & Growth
For over three decades, our commitment has remained constant: to provide bilingual, free-of-charge advocacy and therapeutic healing right in the communities we serve. While we have grown significantly since our early days in the little yellow house on Chestnut Street, our core mission hasn't changed. As our region expands, we continue to increase the reach and accessibility of our services—without ever losing the compassionate, individualized care every child deserves.
How We’re Funded
Our vital work is made possible through a blend of federal, state, and local government grants (representing over half our funding) alongside local fundraising efforts. Generous contributions from individual donors, corporate partners, foundation grants, and community events allow us to keep our doors open and services 100% free to those who need them.
Together, we are working to break the cycle of abuse and support the path toward healing.

The Children’s Advocacy Center, Serving Bastrop, Lee and Fayette Counties is a safe, child-friendly organization where child abuse victims can receive comprehensive services, including forensic interviews, medical exams, therapeutic counseling, and victim advocacy services. The goal of our CAC is to minimize the trauma experienced by the victims we serve by providing them with a supportive environment and ensuring that all their needs are met in a coordinated and efficient manner.
