You can make a difference to the lives of children and families in our community, by getting involved with the Children’s Advocacy Center.

There are so many ways to support the Children’s Advocacy Center, and every contribution can make a difference in the lives of children who have experienced abuse, trauma or neglect.

Donate

One of the most effective ways to support the Children’s Advocacy Center is to make a financial donation. This can help ensure that our center can continue to provide critical services to children and families right here in our community.

Volunteer

The CAC often relies on volunteers to help with a range of tasks, including administrative support, donation management, task forces, and event support.

Become an Intern

We offer family advocate internships that can serve undergrad and master level students as well as clinical internships that provide camp, group, family and individual experiences. Connect with our intern program at info@cacbastrop.org and download our application here for more details.

Spread the word

Raise awareness about the important work that the CAC is doing by sharing information about the center with your friends, family, and community. You can also share information on social media or host a fundraising event to support the work we do at the CAC.

Participate in events

The Children’s Advocacy Center hosts events to raise awareness and funds for the work we do. Participate in these events, as a guest, sponsor, in-kind donor, or volunteer.

Donate goods and services

The CAC is often in need of supplies and services, such as clothing, household essentials, gift cards, pantry items, food and drinks for events, or professional services for events. Connect with our development team to see if there are specific needs that you can help fulfill.

Advocate for change

Work with your local, regional, state and federal elected officials to advocate for policies and laws that protect children and prevent abuse and neglect. This can include supporting funding for the CAC, promoting mandatory reporting laws, and supporting child welfare reform efforts.

There are so many ways to lend a hand to the Children’s Advocacy Center!

  • Volunteer

Our team of volunteers work so hard in the service of our children and families. Volunteers provide a comforting smile and friendly voice to kids coming in for forensic interviews, they help to keep our busy pantry and clothing programs stocked and organized, they manage special projects, like the construction of our therapy garden, or creating beautiful, handmade quilts, and they even work with the CAC to help throw our events, like Designer Purse Bingo and Springfest! With the generosity of their time and talent, our volunteers make it possible for the CAC to fulfill our mission to children and families in our community.

  • Donate Food, Clothing and Essentials

It’s hard to begin the road to healing when your foundation isn’t solid, so the Children’s Advocacy Center works to ensure our families’ basic needs are met, by providing food, clothing, toiletry items, toys, transportation assistance and household essentials when needed. We’re blessed to have a caring community who go the extra mile help to keep the pantry and closets full, and the toy shelves stocked. Please consider becoming a food, clothing, toy or essentials donor to the CAC today!
