Stewards of Children is a revolutionary training program that educates adults to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse, and motivates them to courageous action. The program believes and teaches that child safety is an adult's job. The program incorporates "7 Steps to Protecting our Children", using an interactive workbook and a videotape. The entire program lasts approximately 2.5 hours.
Stewards of Children is designed for organizations that serve children and youth. These include but are not limited to:

Child Abuse Reporting and the Investigation Process is a specialized training for school counselors, teachers, pastors, day care staff, doctors and nurses or for any professional who works with children. Members from CPS, law enforcement, prosecution and the Children's Advocacy Center present information to give a better understanding of who, how and why to report suspected child abuse.
Through interactive dialogue with the facilitator, participants will gain a better understanding of their responsibilities of reporting abuse, of what happens once a report is made, and of the investigation that ensues.
The training last approximately 20-30 minutes. Contact Cheryl Gartner or Julie Elliott to learn more about the Child Abuse Reporting and the Investigation Process training.
Child Lures
While Stewards of Children is a training program for adults, Child Lures is an intensive prevention program that teaches children of all ages vital life skills to keep them safe from sexual abuse, date rape, abduction, Internet crime, drugs and school violence. It is an interactive, non-threatening and empowering approach that has been enthusiastically embraced by educators, psychologists, parents and students.
Child Lures can be customized for any age group, K-12 grades, and for a specific time allotment. Maybe you would like the Facilitator to present 30 minute segments over a 5-day period. Or maybe you just have one hour for the program. Whatever your needs are, we can accommodate you.
Children go away from the Child Lures program with the following empowering skills:
- Recognizing and avoid people, situations and decisions that threaten their personal safety
- Establishing personal boundaries that no one, not even a relative, should ever cross
- How to report abuse or attempted abuse to trusted adults
- Trusting and following their instincts about people and situations
- Resisting those who attempt to lure them into dangerous situations or unhealthy behavior
- How alcohol and other drugs threaten their personal safety as well as personal potential
- Learning their role responsibility in helping to keep their school safe and violence-free
